Passwords have been used for decades to allow a person or group to approach or “pass” by. They served as the only form of authentication. However, their limited use caused many problems: complexity, lack of security, and forgetting them. Today, passwords remain the dominant form of authentication for billions of users worldwide. Yet, they are still vulnerable to a number of attacks and are being used against us: breaches, data theft, and fraud. In this article, we’ll talk about how to reset your Steam password, and the best way to protect your account credentials.
Steam is a popular gaming service that provides access to many games. But sometimes Steam users cannot access their accounts because they forget their passwords.
It happens very often because users often forget their passwords. Gamers can't even get back their accounts, because Steam Support responds to a request to change the password after 2-3 days. This creates a lot of annoyance for gamers, who want to continue "life" in the virtual world of Steam.
If you forgot your Steam password, then this works on both PC and Mac computers.
1. Click Steam in the top-left corner of the screen after launching the Steam app.
2. Click Settings (PC) or Preferences (Mac) in the drop-down menu that appears.
3. The Settings window will appear. Click Change Password after making sure Account is selected in the left sidebar.
4. The web browser will launch. If prompted, proceed with two-factor authentication before entering your new password twice.
5. Your new password will be saved once you click Change Password.
1. Tap the three stacked lines in the upper-left corner of the Steam app once it is open.
2. At the bottom of this sidebar menu, tap Account Details.
3. Tap Change my password after navigating to the Account Security section of the page.
4. Verify your account if asked, and then enter your new password twice.
5. Tap Change Password to save your new login info.
That’s it! If you ever forgot your Steam password, you know how to reset it!
